Haugesund is a municipality and town on the North Sea in Rogaland county, Norway. The Haugesund urban area extends into neighboring Karmøy municipality. Haugesund is the main commercial and economic centre of the Haugaland region in northern Rogaland and southern Vestland. The majority of the municipality outside this area is rural or undeveloped.

Sletta is an open stretch of sea located north of Haugesund, on the border between Vestland and Rogaland counties in Norway. The name "Sletta" refers to the fact that this part of the sea is devoid of islands and islets. At the northernmost part of Sletta, on the mainland, stands the Ryvarden lighthouse.

MS Iona
MS Iona is an Excellence-class cruise ship in service for P&O Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc. She was delivered in October 2020 at a cost of £730 million. Iona was floated out on 18 February 2020 and delivered eight months later on 9 October amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed her debut by more than a year until 7 August 2021, when she sailed her maiden voyage from Southampton.

The horses in Kvalsvik are four of the sculptures that stand through the changes of the tides. Beneath the sea surface there are four more works by Jason deCaires Taylor, who put environmental issues on the agenda with the sea as a gallery space.

Vardafjell
At the top of Vardafjellet there is a lovely view over the whole of Haugesund and the islands beyond. In many places in Haugesund there are remnants of the Second World War. On Vardafjellet there are several bunkers that have functioned both as cannon positions and lookout points.
Vibrandsøy
Vibrandsøy or Vibrandsøya is an island in Haugesund municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies west of the densely built-up island of Hasseløy and northwest of the island of Risøy in the town of Haugesund. The island is now used as a recreational area. The island was part of the Torvastad municipality until 1965, and is the only part of the former municipality which was not incorporated into Karmøy.
